- U.S. government actions against delegations
- Voices in the Wilderness is being sued by the U.S. Justice Department to collect a fine of $20,000 for bringing medicines to the people of Iraq. For more information, click here. To sign a petition to Attorney General John Ashcroft, click here.
- Northwest residents Bert Sacks and Randall Mullins each have $10,000 fines imposed on them by the U.S. Treasury Department for bringing medical supplies and toys to Iraq. See their Declaration 2002.
Help Make A Difference
- Start by informing yourself or helping to inform others. For resource materials, see below. (If you have ordered resources but have not received them, please let us know.)
- Invite a local speaker to talk about sanctions at your school, church, club, or home.
- Contact our local newspapers. Consider some thoughts on the media, at Media Watch.
- Write or call your representatives in government.
- Make a contribution to the Veterans For Peace Iraq Water Project to help repair four water treatment plants in a devastated region in southeastern Iraq.
- Participate in the Campaign of Conscience, providing humanitarian relief to the people of Iraq.
- Help support Voices in the Wilderness and delegates who have been fined by the U.S. Treasury Department for bringing medicines to the people of Iraq. For how to help, see above.
